Background

Dr. Stratford, after finishing training in 1986 and as the 37th doctor when he moved to Washington County, was excited to raise his family in this wholesome red rock country. Originally from Salt Lake City, he is a graduate of the University of Utah School of Medicine and received specialty training through the Baylor College of Medicine in Texas. He has served on numerous boards trying to improve overall health care in the state, including President of the Utah Medical Association and Vice-Chairman of the Utah Health Information Network. However, other than his family, his true love is caring for patients in daily practice. He likes delivering babies, but didn’t like to say goodbye after they were born, so he specialized, and is a Certified Diplomat of the American Board of Family Practice and has achieved Fellowship status in the American Academy of Family Physicians. He and his wife, Katherine, are parents to three children of their own and contributed to the rearing of others over the years.
