Caring for our Community

In 2002, Central Utah Clinic created the Caring for Our Community program to better serve patients and the communities it serves. Caring for Our Community consists of four areas:

  • Offering charitable medical services
  • Publicizing monthly health topics to the community
  • Adopting community initiatives
  • Participating in civic groups

Charitable Medical Services

Central Utah physicians treat patients with compassion, dignity and respect, regardless of ability to pay. Patients who do not have the resources to pay for medical treatment can receive discounted medical services in one of two ways:

  • 1. Physician Discount
If a patient informs his or her doctor about a financial hardship, the physician can provide a discount or write-off the services.
  • 2. Referrals from Community Agencies:
Central Utah physicians treat patients who are referred from community agencies such as Community Health Connect or Health Clinics of Utah and who are experiencing a financial hardship.

In 2003, the Utah Department of Health recognized Central Utah Clinic for its superior job in helping to meet the demands of individuals who cannot afford to pay for healthcare. The organization donated $19.1 million in charitable care that year.

Community Initiatives

As a means of promoting monthly health topics, Central Utah Clinic sponsors a number of community initiatives throughout the year ranging from awareness walks and screenings to providing supplies to schools and participating in other events, such as gathering items for the Women and Children Shelter. Because Central Utah physicians and staff live in the community they serve, they have a desire to support as many worthwhile programs as possible.

Civic Groups

Members of Central Utahs administrative team participate in civic groups such as the Rotary Club, Kiwanis, Chamber of Commerce, Utah Cancer Action Network, American Cancer Society, Society of Utah Medical Oncologists, Red Cross, American Diabetes Association, Nebo Foundation for Excellence, etc. Central Utah Clinics goal is to contribute to all aspects of the communities it serves.
